Admissions to Academic Programmes 2010/2011 Source: ACI
The following Academic Programmes are being offered by Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission and Culture (Accredited by the National Accreditation Board as a postgraduate Institution with Presidential Charter to award degrees) for 2010/2011 Academic year.
1. Master of Theology [MTh] and Doctor of Philosophy [PhD] (August 2010)
Options: i. African Christianity (AC)
ii. Bible Translation & Interpretation (BTI)
The MTh and PhD programmes (with particular emphasis on African Christianity and Bible Translation and Interpretation) are aimed at making it possible for graduates from countries all over the world to undertake an advanced study of the forms and traditions of African Christian life and thought emerging as a distinctive strand of non-western Christianity with the potential of contributing to world Christianity. PhD candidates who do not have the MTh in African Christianity will be required to take the Postgraduate Research Degree course work during the first year.
The Bible Translation & Interpretation (BTI) option is so designed to meet the need of translation agencies working in African Theological Training institutions and churches, for theologically trained staff who are biblical experts to be able to relate their biblical and theological scholarship to the realities of the African context and to the needs of the African Church in the wider world.
2. Master of Arts [MA] in Theology & Mission (August 2010)
The MA in Theology and Mission is specifically designed to meet the needs of working people who cannot take a whole year off for study. It is therefore organized into intensive four blocks of three weeks each, within one year (August to May).
