The following are the accredited programmes being offered for the 2009/2010 academic year.
1. Master of Theology [MTh] and Doctor of Philosophy [PhD]
The MTh and PhD African Christianity
programmes are aimed at making it possible for graduates from countries
all over the world to undertake an advanced study of the forms and
traditions of African Christian life and thought emerging as a
distinctive strand of non-western Christianity with the potential of
contributing to world Christianity. The programme aims at exposing
candidates to the breadth and diversity of African Christianity to
enable them to give scholarly reflections and interpretative depth to
issues of relevance to the Church in its task of Christian witness and
nurture and social transformation. The Bible Translation & Interpretation option
explores the role of the mother-tongue Scriptures in the process of
Bible Exegesis and Interpretation. It aims to equip students for the
task of Bible exegesis and interpretation, by developing their skills
in translation and exegesis, both in the original biblical languages
and in African languages. The programme is designed to meet the need of
theological training institutions and churches and translation agencies
and for the theologically trained staff who are biblical experts to be
